Former regulator boss Fiona MacGregor and Rick Willmott also honoured
The chief executive of Peabody and the former boss of the Regulator of Social Housing are among the recipients of honours in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

Ian McDermott, who has led £1bn-turnover Peabody since 2021 following the merger with his former organization Catalyst, has been awarded a CBE for services to social housing.
He said: “I’m humbled and surprised, but more than anything I’m delighted to see social housing recognised by the King on his birthday. It was a special moment sharing the news with my dad and family so I’m very grateful.”
Fiona MacGregor, who in April stepped down as chief executive of the Regulator of Social Housing after eight years, was also awarded a CBE for services to social housing.
Aileen Evans, formerly chief executive of Grand Union Housing Group and a past president of the Chartered Institute of Housing, received an OBE.
Evans, who is currently project director at Church Housing Association, said: “I have been very privileged to work in housing for many, many years and I want to pay tribute to every person in the sector who works hard to make sure that everyone has a place to call home. This means homes that are safe, warm and affordable. There are still so many people who don’t have that - our work is nowhere near done.”
Ian Piper, former chief executive of the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, was awarded a CBE for services to housing and regeneration.
Elsewhere, Rick Wilmott, executive chair of £1.2bn-turnover contracting giant Willmott Dixon, received an OBE for services to the construction industry.
Former Tideway chief executive Andy Mitchell, who led the delivery of the £5bn Thames Tideway Tunnel project, received a knighthood.
David Pinder, chair of the Green Construction Board, was awarded an OBE for his services to advancing net-zero and biodiversity in the construction sector.
Several figures from the architectural profession were also honoured.
Alison Brooks, founder of Alison Brooks Architect received an OBE for services to architecture, as did Anthony Fretton of Fretton Architects.
Peter Rowland Tudor, founder and director of Caruso St John Architects, received a CBE for services to architecture.
Mina Hasman sustainability director at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill received an OBE for services to Architecture and Sustainable Design, while David Bonnett, an architect and access consultant was recognised with an OBE for services to architecture and inclusive design.
Paul Millar received an MBE for services to architecture and the arts in Northern Ireland.
