The appointments follow a change in governance and the merging of its boards
Three new non-executive directors have been added to Orbit Group’s common board to “enhance the effectiveness” of its governance.
The 46,000-home housing association has announced the appointment of Manpreet Dillon, Michelle Dovey and Paul Crawford with immediate effect.
The appointments follow the establishment of a new governance structure, which came into effect in April for the group. The old Orbit Housing Association Board combined with its Orbit Group Board to create a “common board”’ underpinned by six committees.
Stephen Jack, group chair, said: “We are delighted to welcome Manpreet, Michelle, and Paul to our board. They each bring extensive sector experience and a breadth of skills that complement those of our existing members.
“I have no doubt that their appointments will serve to enhance the effectiveness of our governance processes, as we guide Orbit in delivering on its ambition to provide amongst the best customer experience of any housing association in the country.”
Dillon has four years’ experience as a member of Orbit Housing Association Board, along with experience in both executive and non-executive roles at Legal & General Affordable Homes, Sage Homes, Grainger Plc and Catalyst Housing Group, and non-executive roles at Hyde and Shelter.
Financial risk specialist Dovey’s non-executive experience includes multinational corporate, not-for-profit and charity organisations such as Southern Housing, Crystal Palace Housing Association and Riverside Group. She has held executive roles at Informa, Mobico Group and Imperial Brands.
Crawford has more than 30 years’ experience in the sector, including 15 years as chief executive officer of LiveWest Homes. Prior to his role at LiveWest he was group chief executive at DCH for nine years and managing director at Sovereign HA for five years.
Earlier this month, Scott Rutherford was appointed Orbit’s new chief property officer.
