Chief executives of Gentoo Group, Nationwide Foundation, Tuntum Housing Association and Magna Housing join non-executive team
The National Housing Federation (NHF) has appointed four chief executives to its board.

Louise Bassett, Kate Markey, Charmaine Simei and Selina White have joined the membership body’s non-executive team following the formal departure of Notting Hill Genesis’ Victor da Cunha and Ruth Cooke, chief executive at Green Square Accord.
Bassett, chief executive at 30,000-home Gentoo Group, previously spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical and consumer health sector. She is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Markey, boss of Nationwide Foundation, a housing charity established by the Nationwide Building Society, has joined the NHF as an independent board member.
The former journalist has also worked for national charities and social enterprises across homelessness, addiction and criminal justice.
Simei leads Nottingham-based Tuntum Housing Association and is an executive member of BME National, a collective of black and minority ethnic (BME) housing associations working to improve housing and community outcomes for BME populations. She was previously a mentor with the Housing Diversity Network.
White, chief executive of 9,000-home Magna Housing, is also on the board of housing cooperative Brighter Places and co-chair of Homes for the South West, a partnership between the 12 largest housing associations in the region. She previously served as chair of the NHF’s South West leadership forum.
The new additions bring the total number of NHF board members to 11.
