Richard Smith will lead the warranty group’s analysis of modern methods of construction

The National House-Building Council (NHBC) has named Richard Smith as the head of its innovation, standards and research operation.

Prior to taking up his new role Smith (pictured) was technical director at MD Warranty Services, part of structural warranty specialist MDIS Group.

Among his responsibilities, Smith will lead the NHBC’s research and analysis into modern methods of construction.

The NHBC has also named Scott Manton as its new head of health and safety.

Manton previously held health and safety positions at Phelan Construction, Berkeley’s St George operation, and laboratory developer Interfocus.
