Founder includes former Crest Nicholson director

Former Crest Nicholson development director Toby Lambert and architect Martin Williams have joined forces to create a new developer called Agora Land.

The land acquisitions firm, set up during the covid-19 lockdown, will develop vacant and brownfield sites for housing developments.

It will focus on sites with regeneration potential across six counties in the East of England and has already nabbed two sites in Essex and Suffolk with plans to build a combined 160 homes. Planning applications for the two schemes are due to be lodged in the coming months.

Lambert (pictured) promised the new firm will use sustainable methods of construction at all of its schemes.

Lambert joined CBRE as associate director in 2011 before moving to Bidwells as head of residential development in 2013. He spent a year and a half as development director at Crest Nicholson from 2017, before founding setting up developer Elvico two years ago, which is still active and owns 50% of Agora Land.

Williams founded Saunders in 1996, an architecture practice with offices in London, Hertfordshire, Manchester and Bristol specialising in shopping centre design, mixed-use developments and housing.
