Job to be ready in September 2020

Modular developer Caledonian has been handed a £10m contract to build new student accommodation in Hereford.

The Station Approach project will provide Hereford College of Arts and the city’s new NMiTE University with 178 student bedrooms.

Each will have its own study area and ensuite bathroom.

All the modules will the pre-finished by Caledonian at its 40-acre site in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

The firm said building the modules offsite slashed construction time by about 50% compared to a conventional build and allowed the infrastructure and groundworks to progress at the same time as the accommodation.

The modules will be delivered to site 95% complete, with the accommodation set to be ready for students by September 2020.

Caledonian recently completed a three-storey 90-module student accommodation scheme for Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln, featuring 120-bedrooms.
