Merger is set to complete on 1 June

Thrive Homes and Watford Community Housing will rebrand as Chime Housing when their merger completes on 1 June 2026.

Chime Housing brand identity

The housing associations, which will manage more than 13,500 homes in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas, confirmed their boards had approved the merger in March.

The organisation said the new name and wren logo symbolise togetherness and its “community gateway” approach to housing, as a chime is the collective noun for a group of wrens.

Hattie Llewelyn-Davies, group board chair designate of Chime Housing, said: “As we form our new community gateway organisation, we’re committed to being fully aligned with our residents, remaining in chime with their needs and expectations, through close engagement and collaborative decision-making.”

Paul Richmond, chief executive designate, said: “This new brand featuring a wren symbolises the strength that we will find by merging two successful housing associations and forging close ties with our residents, just as a chime of wrens finds strength in numbers.”
