Homes form part of wider redevelopment of south-east London shopping centre
London Square has exchanged contracts with housing association Clarion for the delivery of 261 affordable homes in south-east London.
The agreement will see the 125,000-home provider take on 149 social rent homes and 112 shared ownership homes after the regeneration of the Leegate Shopping Centre in Lewisham.

It is the latest step in a long-term partnership between the pair, which has helped develop 1,539 homes in Twickenham, Neasden, Croydon and Staines.
The Lewisham homes are part of a wider mixed use scheme that will deliver a total of 620 new homes, as well as a new medical centre, community facilities, a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, and public realm improvements.
Clarion already owns and manages more than 1,500 homes in the borough, including nearby estates at Merridale and Leybridge.
London Square acquired the former shopping centre in March 2025, after which it revised the scheme to increase the affordable housing provision from 36% to 46% by habitable room.
Adam Lawrence, chief executive officer, London Square, said: “Our partnership with Clarion is central to ensuring high quality affordable homes are delivered at scale across London.
“The development is a major regeneration project that will bring new homes, community infrastructure and vitality back to this long underused site.
“We are delighted to be moving ahead with a partner who shares our commitment to creating quality, safe and modern homes alongside significant social impact.”
