The consortium has 22 members, including Anchor, Riverside, Sanctuary and Livv Housing Group
The Liverpool City Region Housing Associations (LCHRA) group has appointed Claire Griffiths as its new chair.
Griffiths is chief executive at 6,000-home Cobalt Housing and has previously held executive director roles at Irwell Valley Housing Association and Plus Dane Housing.
She said: “I’m honoured and excited to step into this role at a pivotal moment for our region and the housing sector. Housing remains one of the most powerful tools we have to drive meaningful social, economic and environmental change.”
The LCRHA group’s members manage more than 213,000 homes in the region, serving more than 450,000 residents.
Griffiths added: “We are working closely with colleagues within the Combined Authority, and the Metro Mayor, to ensure we increase our delivery of new affordable homes and continue our significant investment in existing homes and regeneration across the region, for the benefit of our communities, our region and our economy.”
Griffiths will take over from outgoing chair Léann Hearne.
Hearne said: “Over the past three years, I’ve been proud to lead the LCRHA and use our combined impact to make things better for our customers, communities and the LCR, at large. Looking at our latest social value figures just blows me away and I’m confident that under Claire’s leadership, the group will continue having a positive impact on those who live in our region.”
In April, Hearne announced that she would be stepping down from her chief executive role at Livv Housing Group after seven years. She is currently in the process of handing over the reins to the landlord’s new chief executive, Sharon Marsh.
The LHRCA group is a 22-member consortium with homes in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.
Members of the group include Anchor, Riverside, Sanctuary and Livv Housing Group.
