Sarfraz Hussain joins the 1,400-home provider with more than two decades of experience in housing leadership roles, most recently as director of major estates at Southwark Council.

There he led resident engagement activity across major estate renewal programmes and oversaw large-scale rehousing of residents into new homes along the Old Kent Road.

At Unity, he will lead on all housing operational services, including tenancy management, repairs and maintenance, rental income and resident engagement.

Unity was formed in 1987 with the aim of building a community housing association to address the needs of black and minority ethnic communities in Leeds.

“Unity has a clear social purpose and a long-standing commitment to supporting diverse communities,” said Sarfraz Hussain

“Its ambition to deliver excellent housing services, while creating wider opportunities for residents, is something I fully identify with.”
