Housebuilder agrees forward funding deal with local council to build out 161-Carters Quay project

Listed partnerships housebuilder Inland Homes has forward sold the 161 -home final phase of its Carters Quay development in Poole to the local council.

The firm said it had agreed to sell the development to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council for £43.5m, with a deposit of £8.25m already received, and the rest due in stages over the next 36 months as construction is underway.

Inland has already built 165 homes in the first three phases of its development on the former Pilkington Tile factory site, with the fourth phase set to deliver another 161 homes plus 8,000 sq ft of commercial space.

Inland said piling works will commence in April next year, with build completion expected by the end of 2024.

Inland chief executive Stephen Wicks said: “The Group’s partnership housing division is growing from strength to strength with a forward order book now in excess of £200m. Our partners recognise the Group’s ability to add value across all stages of the project and this latest contract is testament to that.”
