The latest data from the premium boardroom service shows nearly one in four development directors on our panel (24%) reported their organisation missed their development targets in the second quarter of 2023. This is down on the 28% reported for the previous quarter and 59% in the final quarter of 2022, in the aftermath of the mini-budget.

However, most organisations reported fewer completions in Q2 than Q1 (65%) after a bumper end to the financial year.

Housing Today Boardroom tracks market conditions, confidence and sentiment, using responses from our Boardroom Barometer panel of development directors.

During the year, the panel will also contribute to a series of annual focus reports on different topics, including finance and implementing net zero.

The latest report, out now, looks at workforce issues, including organisations’ progress on diversity and inclusion.

The service also provides members with a filterable bank of organisation profiles, development director Q&As and development scheme showcase articles.

Initially, the Boardroom Barometer panel comprises development directors from leading housing associations, but the panel will eventually expand to cover developers, housebuilders, councils and others, UK-wide.
