Membership body advertising for new boss

The Housing Forum is seeking a new chief executive after long-time boss Shelagh Grant announced she is standing down.

Shelagh Grant will stand down at the end of the year. She has led the Housing Forum for more than 20 years

The national body, which has a membership of more than 120 organisations from the public and private sectors, has put out an advertisement for the role, which commands an annual salary of £121,000.

The advertisement said: “The role would be suitable for an aspiring first time CEO, with strong knowledge of the housing sector, drive and outstanding relationship building skills. We are looking for a leader with the vision and grip to take the organisation onto the next level of its journey.”

Grant is standing down after around 25 years in the post at the end of the year. Deputy chair Jamie Ratcliff posted on LinkedIn that she “has decided to embrace new challenges”.

He said: “Ending of an era! Shelagh Grant has been the CEO of The Housing Forum from the start, for a quarter of a century. Her impact and service is widespread and will be celebrated for some time to come. “

The Housing Forum describes itself as “the only cross-sector, industry-wide organisation that represents the entire housing supply chain.” Its members include councils, housing associations, housebuilders, construction companies, architects and specialist consultancies.
