Plannign chief for Cambridge region and MHCLG director included in honours

Figures from across the social housing and planning sectors have been recognised in the King’s New Year’s Honours List.

An OBE for services to intergenerational housing was given to Paavan Popat, chief executive of luxury care home provider TLC Care, while Anna Rose, head of the Planning Advisory Service, received one for public service.

Dr Hywel Davies, head of technical insight at the Chartered Association of Building Engineers, also received an OBE, for services to Building Safety and Standards.

CBE recipients included Professor Suzanne Rastrick, chief allied health professions officer at NHS England and a board member at Magna Housing, for services to the social housing sector, as well as Catherine Francis, the director on new towns, infrastructure and housing delivery in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. She was recognised for public service.

Michael Scott, a board member at Scottish housing association Osprey Housing was given an MBE for public service.

Meanwhile, Stephen Kelly, joint director for planning and economic development for Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service, received the same honour for services to town planning.

Dwarampudi Rama Krishna Reddy, director of Homeless Housing, and Emma Louise Rule, founder of Musicians Against Homelessness, and Stephen Charles Hedley, chief executive of Trinity Homeless Projects, all received MBEs for their work on homelessness. 

Nina Bale was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to the homeless community in Kendal, Cumbria.
