Sir Edward Lister given another three-year stint

Housing secretary James Brokenshire has re-appointed Sir Edward Lister as chair of Homes England.

The appointment term is for three years and follows the completion of Lister’s previous three-year term as chair of the government’s housebuilding agency.

Announcing the re-appointment Brokenshire said: "This government is committed to delivering 300,000 homes a year to ensure everyone across the country has access to a decent, affordable, secure place to call home.

"Sir Edward has brought his experience, influence and thoughtfulness to bear in helping us to bring real change to the housing market, and so I am delighted to re-appoint him as chair of Homes England."

Lister, who is also a non-executive director a the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, was previously the chief of staff for Boris Johnson when he was London mayor and has acted as the deputy mayor for Policy and Planning at City Hall.

He has also chaired the Old Oak Common Development Corporation.
