Trudy Betts appointed to new senior leadership role

The Hill Group has hired contractor McLaren’s head of IT business change to lead digital transformation in a newly-created senior leadership role.

The housebuilder has appointed Trudy Betts as digital transformation project director, tasking her with streamlining its core systems, strengthening data governance and ensuring it has the operational infrastructure required to double in size by 2030.

That target is a central pillar of Hill’s 2025-2030 business plan and would see the builder grow to a turnover of £2.3bn.

Betts has spent 27 years in the Civil Service, working across HMRC, the Cabinet Office and the Central Office of Information, before moving into the private sector, initially with Mace as an IT project manager.

At Hill, her remit will span the full development cycle, from land acquisition and sales through to project delivery and customer handover.

“Trudy brings exceptional experience in delivering complex business transformation programmes and her proven track record of implementing the systems, governance and strategic frameworks needed to support long-term growth makes her the ideal person to help drive Hill’s next chapter,” said Andy Hill, founder and group chief executive of Hill.

“As we continue to execute our ambitious plans to grow the business from £1.2 billion to £2.3 billion by 2030, having the right digital foundations in place is essential.

“Trudy’s expertise across enterprise systems, data strategy, AI, procurement and operational improvement will be invaluable in helping us build a stronger, smarter and more connected business.”
