Matthew Pennycook tells Lords committee percentage of green belt to be released likely to be less than 10%

The amount of green belt land likely to be released as a result of the government’s grey belt policy is likely to be lower than speculation has suggested, according to the housing minister.

Appearing in front of the House of Lords built environment committee yesterday, Matthew Pennycook said he could not say exactly how much land would be released and refused to put a target on the level of delivery expected from the grey belt.
