Muldoon, a chartered accountant with FTSE board experience, will also join Grainger’s remuneration, nominations and responsible business committees.

She is currently on the board of Beazley plc, the specialist insurance business, as well as international financial services firm Admiral Group plc.

Between 2015 and 2020, Muldoon was chief executive of FBD Holdings plc, a listed general insurer in Ireland.

“We are very pleased to welcome Fiona Muldoon to the Board as Chair of our Audit & Risk Committee and Senior Independent Director, bringing a significant amount of experience and expertise in finance and consumer facing financial services,” said Simon Fraser, chairman of Grainger.

“We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Justin Read for his unwavering commitment and support to the business over his tenure on the Board, as Chair of Audit & Risk Committee and as Senior Independent Director, over which time we have seen tremendous growth and transformation.”
