Go-ahead given for first phase of Wates' £1bn Havering homes plan

Scheme will see over 5,000 built over next 15 years

The first homes in a £1bn housing regeneration scheme in east London have been approved.

Joint venture partners Havering council and Wates Residential submitted plans for the Napier and New Plymouth House site in Rainham in May this year.
