Urban Splash founder Tom Bloxham and former North Star boss Angela Lockwood also among those honoured
Peter Denton, former chief executive of Homes England and Hyde, has been named in the King’s Birthday Honours for his “services to housing and to major urban regeneration”.
Denton accepted a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) medal in an honours list that honoured several figures in the housing and construction industry.
Writing on LinkedIn, Denton said: “I am deeply honoured to be appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to Housing and Major Urban Regeneration.
“A permanent home, not just housing, is fundamental to a fair and thriving society; especially for the children in temporary accommodation tonight. I have had the incredible privilege to lead Homes England and The Hyde Group and now support Places for People on the board. Every single day I experienced the collective effort of thousands of dedicated colleagues, partners, and public servants working tirelessly to deliver such homes, placemaking regeneration, and opportunity across this country.”
A CBE was also awarded to Urban Splash founder Tom Bloxham for “services to culture and Manchester International Festival/Factory International”.
Bloxham wrote on X: “I am thrilled and delighted for myself and all my amazing colleagues at Factory International, Manchester City Council & Arts Council England.”
Angela Lockwood, former chief executive at North Star Housing, received an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to disadvantaged people in the North East. Mark Gifford, chief executive at First Choice Homes Oldham, also received an OBE.

Several architects were rewarded with OBEs, including Julian Harrap, Eric Parry and Gareth Stapleton.
