Falling completion rates send Persimmon profit down in first six months

But firm says second half of year has got off to strong start

Persimmon has seen pretax profit fall by almost 43% while revenue plunged by a third in the first half as the impact of covid-19 took its toll.

The housebuilder has published its half-year results for the six months to 30 June - reporting that pretax profit had fallen to £292m from £509m in the same period last year.
