Housebuilder of the Year category open to housing associations and councils for the first time ever

A number of high-profile awards for those working in housing are now open to entries.

For the first time ever the Housebuilder of the Year award at the 2024 Building Awards will be open to housing associations and councils.

The Housing Project of the Year was won by the Dockley Apartments scheme, entered by Studio Woodroffe Papa and Poggi Architecture in 2023

This category is aimed at all sizes of firms building homes as either a standalone developer or as a partner where the housebuilding work the firm has been involved with demonstrates outstanding features and innovative solutions to difficult problems, with entries closing on 7 June.

This year’s judging panel is made up of 30 high-profile industry figures including Yetunde Abdul, head of climate action, UKGBC, Brian Berry, chief executive, Federation of Master Builders, Anna Clarke, director of policy and public affairs, Housing Forum, Jackie Sadek, director, Urban Strategy, and Lynne Sullivan, chair, National Retrofit Hub.

Other categories open to those working in housing include Housing Project of the Year, awarded in partnership with The Housing Forum, which is open to housebuilders, housing providers, developers or members of their project teams who have completed a large development in the UK of at least 15 new units between April 2023 and April 2024. 

On top of the prestigious title the winner of this category this year will also be awarded a year’s membership to The Housing Forum. 

Other prizes open to those working in the housing sector include Client of the Year, Good Employer of the Year, Delivering Social Value Award, Digital Excellence Award, MMC Award and Net Zero Award. 

The 2024 Building Awards are set to take place on 5 November at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London.

The Building Awards are back and entries are now open!

Some of the biggest names in the industry including HLM Architects, CPC Project Services, Berkeley Group and Mace secured last year’s titles.

Hosted by comedian Rob Brydon, the ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel was attended by more than 1,000 people, all there to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the industry’s highest performing companies and individuals.

We can’t wait to do it all again and share what we have in store for this year! So gather your best work and enter your submissions by 7th June to be in with a chance of taking home that trophy!
