The new president of the Chartered Institute of Housing, who is also chief executive of training organisation Black on Board, signed up as a commissioner this week and will have a particular focus on workplace, culture and inclusivity.

The Building the Future Commission will be launched in January by Housing Today’s sister publication Building. It aims to find solutions to the construction industry’s underlying problems such as poor productivity levels, an ageing workforce and the need to spend more on research and development.

Oyedele joins other big names already confirmed including Lord Bob Kerslake, former head of the civil service and chair of Peabody, and leading figures from other sectors and disciplines such as transport, infrastructure, hospitals, architecture, building safety, cost management and contracting.
