The leaders of five of London’s largest housing associations have come together for an exclusive Housing Today webinar exploring the findings of the latest State of the Capital report.
The discussion, which will be available from 11am on Thursday (30 July) brings together G15 chair and Peabody chief executive Ian McDermott, G15 vice-chair and Clarion Housing Group chief executive Clare Miller, MTVH chief executive Mel Barrett, L&Q group chief executive Fiona Fletcher-Smith and Southern Housing group chief executive Paul Hackett.
Chaired by Housing Today deputy editor Carl Brown, the webinar examines the report’s findings, what they reveal about the challenges and opportunities facing London’s housing associations - and what the new Burnham government means for the industry.
The discussion comes at a critical time for the sector, with providers balancing the need to build more affordable homes while investing in existing stock, responding to new regulatory requirements and maintaining financial resilience.

Panellists will debate the barriers preventing housing associations from increasing delivery, the investment needed to improve existing homes, and the policy changes required from the new government to unlock a new generation of affordable housing across the capital.
The annual State of the Capital report, produced by Housing Today in partnership with the G15 off the back of the Building the Future Conference, provides an assessment of the current outlook for London’s housing associations and sets out recommendations to help accelerate affordable housing delivery across the capital.
