Tom Nicholson succeeds Kevin Whitaker
Scottish housebuilder Cala Group has appointed Tom Nicholson as its new chief executive.

Nicholson most recently acted as non-executive director to the Cala board and has previously served in a range of senior positions at Crest Nicholson, Linden Homes, Galliford Try and Berkeley Homes.
He has taken over from Kevin Whitaker, who became chief executive in 2018.
Nicholson will continue as part of the board in addition to his new role.
He said: “While market conditions are likely to remain challenging into 2026, I am confident that, with the strong support of our shareholders, Cala will continue to further strengthen its leadership position in the UK housebuilding industry.”
Cala Group sold 2,861 homes last year and reported a turnover of £1.2bn. It was ranked the eighth largest housebuilder in the UK in Housing Today’s exclusive Top 50 Housebuilders list, published last week.
Headquartered in Edinburgh, it employs 1,300 people across nine offices.
