Contractor to build 515 apartments for sister company and build-to-rent operator Moda Living

Caddick Construction has been named as the contractor lined up to construct the build-to-rent element of a £300m Caddick Group development in Leeds.

The 515 homes form the first phase of Caddick Group’s £300m Soyo regeneration scheme in the city, which was first unveiled two years ago.

Designed by DLG Architects, the New York Square apartments will be managed by Moda Living, which is also part of the Caddick Group. Construction work is expected to start this month.

Moda has a pipeline of more than 7,500 rental homes in eight cities across the UK, including the Mercian building in Birmingham and Angel Gardens in Manchester, which is also being built by Caddick Construction.

As well as build-to-rent homes, the Soyo scheme will deliver a hotel, bars, restaurants and public space.

Johnny Caddick, managing director at Moda Living and a director at Caddick Group, said the project was a group-wide effort that “demonstrates Caddick’s cross-sector strengths in both property development and construction”.
