Regulator is looking for a high-risk building resident with ‘strong facilitation skills’
The Building Safety Regulator is recruiting an independent chair for its residents’ panel.
The chair will provide oversight and direction to the panel, which is a structured forum bringing together people with experience of living in higher-risk buildings. It does not replace formal regulatory processes, but airms to ensure residents’ voices inform how regulations are applied and improved.

The regulator is looking for a current resident of a high-risk residential building with “strong facilitation and leadership skills” and who “understands the importance of trust, fairness and clear communication”.
It said that experience in housing, resident advocacy, regulation or public service would be “helpful” but that “what matters most is the ability to listen carefully, challenge constructively and represent residents’ interests with confidence”.
Responsibilities of the chair include leading quarterly meetings, creating a respectful space for discussion and working constructively with the BSR while maintaining “independence and credibility”.
Applications close on 10 May.
