Interim finance chief has been appointed and search for replacement launched

Barratt Redrow’s chief financial officer has stepped down from his position by mutual agreement.

Mike Scott joined Barratt in December 2021, having previously worked as group chief financial officer at Countryside as well as various roles at Sainsbury’s.

The housebuilding giant’s board has launched a search for a replacement, with Michael Passmore joining the group immediately as interim deputy chief financial officer.

Passmore recently worked as group finance director at Rank Group plc and before that in finance director roles at ISS plc and the Post Office.

Caroline Silver, chair of Barratt Redrow, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Mike for his contribution during a pivotal period for the Group and we wish him well for the future.”

The builder said Mike Scott would be “available for transitional support” until 31 January 2026.

“I would like to thank the Board for the opportunity to work with Barratt Redrow over the last four years and wish the Group all the best for the future,” said Scott.

In September, Barratt Redrow announced it had increased turnover and profit in its first results since merging, although provisions also rose after the discovery of new building defects.

The pair completed their £2.5bn merger last October after securing clearance from the Competition and Markets Authority.
