The funding was awarded via the landlord’s strategic partnership with Homes England
Accent Housing has secured £33.8m from Homes England to deliver 301 new homes for social and affordable rent.
The funding has been awarded via the social landlord’s strategic partnership with Homes England under the Affordable Homes Programme 2021-2026. The latest financial installment is part of a £2bn top-up announced earlier this year.
Thrive Homes, one of Accent’s partner housing associations, will use the funds to deliver the last phase of 22 homes on its Lyndhurst Farm site in Borehamwood, while Accent will deliver the remaining 279 across its development programme.
Accent is aiming to develop 600 homes per year until 2027 across the north, east and south of England as part of its five-year corporate plan.
The Bradford-based landlord currently has 21,600 homes, with more than 700 under construction on 18 sites from Surrey to Yorkshire.
Steve Morris, interim executive director for development and sales, said: “This additional support gives us confidence to keep building, while we await announcements around the government’s longer-term funding plans.”
