Mary Gibbons has been promoted at 58,000-home landlord
Abri Group has announced the appointment of Mary Gibbons as chief operating officer.
The 58,000-home housing association has promoted Gibbons from her role as regional managing director of Abri’s London region, where she led on the improvement’s to subsidiary Octavia housing services and integration into the group.
Octavia, which in July 2024 was found to be non-compliant with regulatory standards, formally joined the group last December.
Gibbons was chief executive of Moat from April 2022 to February 2024. She was also previously chief executive at CHP and Hundred Houses Society. She held senior roles at Swan Housing Group, where she worked for nine years from 2006 to 2015.
As COO at Abri, Gibbons will be responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of Abri’s customer experience directorate. This is responsible for all landlord services including housing, repairs and maintenance, complaints, tenancy sustainment and community investment.

Gary Orr, group chief executive of Abri, said: “I’m pleased to confirm Mary’s appointment as the new Chief Operating Officer. This decision was made with confidence given the leadership Mary has demonstrated in the recovery of Octavia.
