Places for People records 5.4% drop in operating surplus

Places for People has recorded a £45.8m decrease in its operating surplus this year, caused by increased investment in repairs, salary costs and plans to demolish an Essex tower block.

The social housing provider delivered an operating profit of £163.7m this year, compared to £209.5m in 2022.
