Housing Today has been tracking the 2024/25 financial statements of the largest housing associations over the past few months. Here are the key themes from this year’s reports
The spending review in June was warmly welcomed across the social housing sector. A £39bn, 10-year Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP), a 10-year rent settlement and moves to bring back rent convergence were all seen as a win for the sector.
However, with bidding for the new SAHP not expected to take place until February, providers are still facing uncertainty, and in many cases constrained balance sheet capacity, in the short-term.
