As Lendlease’s huge project at Elephant & Castle finally approaches completion, Daniel Gayne spoke to the team behind the scheme to find out how it has changed over more than a decade of work

From the top of the Elephant Park, it is not hard to be distracted by the view of London’s greatest sights, spread out in a row before you. After all, if you drag your gaze downwards, what you will see is not likely to render you awestruck. 

Elephant Park may be one of the biggest and most controversial regeneration schemes that the capital has seen in recent times, but as it approaches completion after more than a decade in the works, the development does not visually present itself in these grand terms.
