Another prime minister, another set of technical education reforms. It took Andy Burnham just 10 days in office to unveil his interpretation of what needs to be done to address the UK’s skills crisis. In doing so, he became the fifth PM in a decade to announce a shake-up of technical education, which hardly reflects well on the previous four’s efforts.
