Housing Champions Q&A: Louisa Nie, Grosvenor

Louisa Nie 2

Louisa Nie talks about making a difference, the importance of engagement in planning, the power of excel skills and the benefits of being bi-lingual

Why did you choose housing as a career?

It wasn’t something that jumped out at me and before I joined Grosvenor, I tried banking for a bit. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t feel like I was making a tangible difference to the world.

You definitely can’t say that about a career in housing development! We’re creating entirely new places at Grosvenor, and I love seeing the impact we make and thinking about what you need to create a strong community. We’re delivering homes, but also parks, schools, spaces for people to meet. Choosing a place to live is one of the biggest decisions anyone ever makes, and through this job I can play a part in that.

What are you most proud of in your career to date?

It has to be our Barton Park development in Oxford.
