CIH vice-president election 2026: meet the candidates

CIH VP 2026 3

Chartered Institute of Housing members can now vote in the election for the institute’s president taking up the post in 2027.  Here is a guide to the five candidates and their manifestos

Voting is under way in the Chartered Institute of Housing’s vice-president election.

The candidate with the most votes will become vice-president of the institute from October, and by convention will then become president the following year, succeeding Evie Copland, director of customer and communities at Berwick Housing Association, who takes over the hotseat as president in October.

Five candidates are standing this year. They are Nic Bliss, campaign director at Stop Social Housing Stigma; Lee Buss-Blair, director of operations at Riverside Care & Support; Katrina Dearden, a tenant of Torus; Richard Kennedy, co-founder of social enterprise Cornerstone Place and Gavin Smith, former chair of CIH Scotland and service manager for housing access and homelessness at Fife Council.

CIH members can vote here by entering their unique voter code. Voting closes at 11.59pm on Monday 13 July.
