Lending giant Octopus Real Estate has acquired a housing association and is looking to invest big in forward purchasing affordable homes. Chief executive Benjamin Davis explains more.

It was not too long ago that the phrase “for-profit” housing association was oxymoronic. The ability to create a commercial registered provider of social housing has only existed since 2010, when Gordon Brown’s Housing and Regeneration Act 2008 came into effect.
