ONS says housing drop led largest monthly fall in construciton output since the onset of the pandemic

Housing output dropped by 4.5% in October as the impact of the supply chain crisis worsened, according to the latest official data.

The drop in housebuilding activity, to £3.26bn compared to £3.42bn in September, took output in the sector to the lowest level seen since the immediate rebound from the pandemic, in August last year.
