Site released as part of government’s new ‘trailblazer’ drive for development on surplus public sector land

Homes England has acquired an army barracks site in north Yorkshire on which it plans to build 1,300 homes.

The agency has signed a deal with the Ministry of Defence to buy land consisting of Ripon Barracks, which are due to close next year.
