Government letter reveals decision rules portion of ban covering blinds, shutters and awnings is lifted

A High Court judge has partially quashed the ban on combustible cladding on buildings over 18m introduced in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, ruling the government carried out inadequate consultation.

In a letter published yesterday Frances Kirwan, who is the deputy director for the government's building safety portfolio, revealed that a High Court challenge to the consultation process that introduced the ban had ruled that a portion of the consultation had been "inadequate".
