As well as political frustration, concerns about the cost of living, and pressure on public services, recent local election results have revealed something deeper. Across towns, cities and neighbourhoods, many communities are becoming increasingly anxious about change, belonging, local services and whether the places they live still feel stable, connected and recognisable.
