It cannot have been the intention of the Building Safety Act to create delays to development - it’s time for a fresh approach, argues Bhavini Patel

It is well publicised there are serious delays in processing gateway 2 (GW2) applications under the Building Safety Act. In fact, recent figures from the consultancy Cast demonstrate that only 10% of the 187 applications submitted since October 2023 have been approved.
