Strategic relationships are the way forward

Richard Jones CROP

Clients who are focused on more than just profit are increasing looking for long-term like-minded partners, says Arcadis’ Richard Jones

There is a lot more discussion across the industry about strategic relationships and collaboration rather than just transactional encounters. This is a good indication of the residential sector maturing and recognising the potential benefits of getting to know different organisations and their particular skillsets. It involves working out how collaboration can progress into a programme of work where familiarity and understanding builds on learning, ultimately leading to efficiency and wider benefits.

This of course becomes more important where the focus on outcomes widens beyond the purely financial ones and begins to include the environmental, social and corporate governance factors (ESG) that are beginning to influence not only the residential sector but also the macro-economics which ripple through all sectors.
