Labour has put housing at the top of its agenda with its ambitious housing policy programme, but the party would have much to do

The high priority given to housebuilding, and specifically the building of more affordable housing, at the Labour Party Conference, set the issue very firmly at the top of the political agenda. It’s a guarantee that the housing sector will come into sharp focus as we approach the next general election.

We all acknowledge that the system needs to change, but what might change in the first few years of a Labour government, and how might the changes outlined at Labour’s conference impact on the sector?
