Our housing crisis must not be ignored by the new PM

If either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak want to solve the housing crisis they need to raise their ambitions, says Kush Rawal, director of residential investment at SO Resi

The country will soon have a new prime minister, and whether the new occupant of Number 10 ends up being Rishi Sunak or the bookies favourite Liz Truss, what the housing industry wants to know is whether the new incumbent will finally give the housing crisis the priority it deserves. 

The government promised to build 300,000 homes a year as a manifesto pledge, along with making long-overdue planning reforms to get Britain building.
