There is, as you have no doubt noticed, a Budget coming up. Bids for new spending are flying into the Treasury from all angles – although there is a lot less advice to the chancellor on where the money might come from.
So, in an attempt to lighten her burden, here are a few suggestions about how we could make whatever money is available for housing go much further and have the greatest possible impact.
