This weekend it was Armed Forces Day (Saturday 25 June). The country’s armed forces and the construction industry have always had a close relationship, with lots of transferable skills and valued qualities in both sectors. Personal traits like resilience, hard work, time management and being good at problem solving will always find a welcome home in the housebuilding industry.

This is why we invest a lot in the armed forces at Barratt, providing careers for ex-service men and women, supporting forces’ charities like the RBLI and Tommy Club and, for the first time this year, providing homes for Afghan refugees
