The Building Safety Act (BSA) and the Building Safety Regulator’s regime for new higher-risk residential buildings and the remediation of existing is putting budgets under strain to meet necessary safety requirements. According to the National Audit Office, the cost of fixing unsafe cladding could exceed £16.5 billion, with almost £4 billion of that falling to social housing providers.
