I read somewhere recently that feeling safe where you live is the number one priority for 82% of people in the UK. It’s seems obvious, doesn’t it? But for a lot of young adults and children that all important sense of security just isn’t there. In particular, many young people find living in London a 24/7 challenge, especially when it comes to their own wellbeing.
The places where we live should feel safe. All too often they don’t: according to the ONS, almost 10% of 10- to 15-year-olds in the UK avoided travelling alone in the past year due to safety concerns, including fear of gangs or weapons.
