Encouraging colleagues to share experiences can help drive for inclusivity

On International Women’s Day, Savinder Bhamra of Abri argues inclusivity should not be a one-off project but a permanent duty woven into all we do, with ‘allyship’ having a huge role to play.

We know that sharing lived experiences is what lies at the heart of fundamental cultural change. Therefore, the more people within the business that feel able to share their lived experiences, the greater the call is for businesses to bring that change to table.

It’s not enough for organisations to say that they’ve got a plan to tackle discrimination and increase equality of opportunity. Words are powerful, yes, but alone they can’t make good, positive change happen. And good, positive change is what we all so desperately need.
